NESTLED AMONG THE HISTORIC “GINGERBREAD” COTTAGES OF OAK BLUFFS

After a reservation mishap entirely of my own doing, I arrived at the Pequot following a two day journey involving a train, a bus, an overnight stay in Boston and then a ferry. I walked from the ferry terminal to the hotel in less than 10 minutes. Chloe and the hotel management graciously and quickly resolved my predicament.

I stayed in Room 18, a TV free room that was exactly what I needed to relax and unplug. I enjoyed my visit so much that I decided to extend my stay for an extra night, and luckily, the hotel was able to accommodate me.

The Pequot is steps from Inkwell Beach, making beautiful sunrises and sunsets easy to enjoy. I had a bicycle and helmet delivered directly to the hotel and explored the island by bike and local bus, including a ride out to Jaws Bridge.

Breakfast was great, and the other guests were gracious and friendly. After a full day of town hopping, the homemade cookies and lemonade were a wonderful welcome back. I also enjoyed the complimentary porch party and evening tour.

The Pequot gave me the warm, personal Martha’s Vineyard experience I’d hoped for. I would gladly stay again.

The hotel manager Lisa Allen went out of her way to accommodate us. She is very pleasant to deal with and always on the floor talking with customers to make sure their experiences with the hotel and the staff is above par.

Staff is super friendly and helpful and extremely courteous, you definitely feel comfortable to stay here, relax and regenerate. Rooms are very clean and taken care of. Property and foliage is very well kept and beautiful. This is definitely a great place to stay. Ocean is couple blocks away and so is ferry and small but excellent places to dine, either laid back, business or dating. Fast food, sweets, are just around the corner. Highly Recommend Pequot Hotel as place to stay.

A Great Place to Stay in Oak Bluffs My wife and I stayed here for four nights. Pequot is a simple historic hotel with modern amenities. It is in a quiet neighborhood within a short walk to the ocean and the main Oak Bluffs shopping area and there is free on-street parking right in front of the hotel. Breakfast, with a wide variety of options, is included. They served mimosas for breakfast one morning and had live entertainment in the lobby one evening. Plus they offered wine during happy hour and cookies in the lobby. The best part was the very friendly staff. Finally, this hotel is offered at a reasonable price versus other Martha's Vineyard hotels. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay when you are in Martha's Vineyard. We will go back to this hotel again.

The folks at the Pequot go above and beyond. First, there are the little niceties. Home baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. A pleasant continental breakfast. Complimentary wine and cheese with live music. Most importantly, the staff are really friendly and helpful. The general manager contacted us while we were cycling to let us that the New Bedford ferry might be canceled the next day. We took an earlier ferry home and she refunded that night's reservation. The hotel itself is quaint, quiet, and conveniently located in Oak Bluffs. Three thumbs up!

Quaint Buildings, Great People If you want a glimpse into how vacationing on Martha's Vineyard was in the 1800s (but with most all our modern conveniences), the Pequot Hotel is an excellent choice. The buildings are modern adaptations of some of the beautiful, quaint and interesting gingerbread cottages that were erected in the mid-to-late 1800s. Don't expect rooms like you would find in most modern-day hotels. The rooms are small, but comfortable, clean, have attached private baths and plenty of power outlets to accommodate all one's devices. The shower had plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. I found the bed comfortable. But, my wife's bad back did not like the mattress.
The staff was great! Everyone was friendly, helpful and did their best to see we had a pleasant stay. If you bring your car (not recommended in the Summer), you must be aware there is no off-street parking and limited street parking. That said, we were always able to find a spot near the hotel.

The hotel is quaint and gas beautiful architecture. The personnel were great and made us feel welcome. The rooms were small but that is to expected with this type of building so don't be surprised or disappointed. The rooms were sufficient and clean. The breakfast provided was great. Individual quiche, waffles and pastries.
The inn is located within walking distance to town and the MV camp association houses. It was quite and we really enjoyed ghe days we spent there.
