What our guests say…
A Great Place to Stay in Oak Bluffs My wife and I stayed here for four nights. Pequot is a simple historic hotel with modern amenities. It is in a quiet neighborhood within a short walk to the ocean and the main Oak Bluffs shopping area and there is free on-street parking right in front of the hotel. Breakfast, with a wide variety of options, is included. They served mimosas for breakfast one morning and had live entertainment in the lobby one evening. Plus they offered wine during happy hour and cookies in the lobby. The best part was the very friendly staff. Finally, this hotel is offered at a reasonable price versus other Martha's Vineyard hotels. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay when you are in Martha's Vineyard. We will go back to this hotel again.
Quaint Buildings, Great People If you want a glimpse into how vacationing on Martha's Vineyard was in the 1800s (but with most all our modern conveniences), the Pequot Hotel is an excellent choice. The buildings are modern adaptations of some of the beautiful, quaint and interesting gingerbread cottages that were erected in the mid-to-late 1800s. Don't expect rooms like you would find in most modern-day hotels. The rooms are small, but comfortable, clean, have attached private baths and plenty of power outlets to accommodate all one's devices. The shower had plenty of hot water and lots of pressure. I found the bed comfortable. But, my wife's bad back did not like the mattress. The staff was great! Everyone was friendly, helpful and did their best to see we had a pleasant stay. If you bring your car (not recommended in the Summer), you must be aware there is no off-street parking and limited street parking. That said, we were always able to find a spot near the hotel.
Fantastic stay in Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard! We had a wonderful time staying at Pequot hotel! Location was ideal and we loved the complementary happy hour Friday night plus delicious breakfast included highly recommend The inn is located within walking distance to town and the MV camp association houses. It was quite and we really enjoyed ghe days we spent there.
Annual family trip to MV The hotel is near a calm beach in oakbluffs. Rooms are slightly dated small but comfortable and roomy. I did notice a stain on the toilet side, which must have been missed by the cleaning staff. Breakfast was just the right amount and good. Location is perfect, walking distance to restaurants, ferry, bus and beach. Staff gets the most points as being really friendly and so helpful. We had checked out but were allowed to leave our luggage for the day, take beach towels and chairs to the beach gor the day, return later, take a nice shower with fresh towels, soap and shampoo. This made our stay exceptional. Thank you. Will certainly stay here again.
First things first.... First things first .when going to Martha's Vineyard, you first need to decide Edgartown or Oak Bluffs, the former higher end luxury with not much to do in the evenings with the latter more of a traditional island less luxury/higher energy experience, and we've done and enjoyed both. The Peguot Hotel is well located (we walked to the beach each evening which Edgartown really doesn't have) and well staffed and they do a nice job of creating an experience. One night there was live music with free wine and cheeses which was fun and one morning during breakfast (which was good) they had mimosas. The porch is a great way to meet people and just veg. The rooms are nice and well appointed (we got a double queen suite) but they are old and ours had more of a cabin feel, especially the bathrooms which while clean was in need of an upgrade. I don't blame the hotel but we where in season and paid over $600 a night which is too much for this property but so is over $1,500 a night for some of the choices in Edgartown. So if you go into this in season pricing and expecting Edgartown luxury, you may be disappointed with quality of room for the price. But if you understand the choice/expectation difference between the Edgartown/Oak Bluffs experience, you will enjoy the uniqueness of this property.
Best B&B and unbeatable location Best B&B experience and unbeatable location! ChatGPT made the recommendation and wow! Right next to all the cute houses and the ocean, we enjoyed the stay (great breakfast! Monday wine, cheese and live music). Morning mimosas is nice too. Pequot hotel knows exactly how to get guests hooked and plan for another visit.
Great Staff & Location The folks at the Pequot Hotel go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. They tracked my wife and me down while cycling around the island to let us know that the ferry would likely be canceled the next day, so if we wished to leave early, they'd refund our last night's stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The continental breakfast was great. The home-baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoons was a nice touch. The hotel is quaint and located in a pleasant, quiet, convenient spot. Overall, the place and the people were wonderful.
We love this place so much! We just returned home from another great stay at the Pequot! The hotel has so much to offer, you'll want for nothing. Lisa and team work so hard, are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean and have everything you could need. The breakfast is always amazing, as is the Friday porch party. If you're thinking of booking, just do it! I'm already looking forward to next September!
